If school rankings are part of how you are choosing a neighbourhood in Whitby, here is where things stand based on the latest Fraser Institute Report Card, which scores Ontario elementary schools out of 10 using EQAO testing results.

Jack Miner Public School currently leads the pack in Whitby with a strong 9.5 rating, located in the Williamsburg neighbourhood. Colonel J.E. Farewell and Chris Hadfield both sit around 8.2 to 8.3, and Fallingbrook and Williamsburg Public School round out a solid group in the low 8s. On the Catholic side, St. Luke has consistently posted one of the strongest scores in the Durham Catholic District School Board.

A quick note on how to use this data responsibly: the Fraser Institute itself cautions against using rankings as the sole factor in choosing a school. They are based on standardized test performance, one useful data point, not a full picture of a school's culture, extracurriculars, or fit for your specific kid. If schools are a priority in your home search, we always recommend pairing this data with an actual visit or conversation with the school before you commit to a neighbourhood.

If you want help finding a home inside a specific school's catchment area, that is exactly the kind of local knowledge we bring to a buyer search, just ask.
